5 Fall Trends to Try

Like most other people on social media, I too LOVE the fall. The holidays, the weather, the food; last but not least - the fashion! In the fall it is cool enough outside to start adding in fun wintery accessories but it's not totally freezing yet! Plus I'm a total accessories fiend. Colder weather = more accessories. What's not to love?!

Here is a roundup of the top 5 fall trends that you need to try ASAP!

1. Teddy Coats

Soft and fluffy things make me happy. Not being freezing but still looking cute also makes me happy. These coats are basically socially acceptable short robes that you can wear in public without being judged. I’m all for chic yet pajama-esque trends! They are truly my favorite. Also the blush colored coat – I’m drooling over here! The coat on the far right I love as well. I've seen a lot of "teddy coats" that are camel colored, but none that are more of a rusty hue. I love this warmer tone and think I would wear it more often!

2. Doc Martens

Feeling rebellious? Me too. I am not sure why, but I’ve always had a little bit of rebel in me! And these boots – what rebel wouldn’t wear them?! These boots are sure to make you feel powerful (and keep your feet dry in the snow). The only question is…what color?! I am leaning towards white because white boots were EVERYWHERE during New York and Paris fashion weeks. But there are so many cute ones to choose from. Also here’s a little hack: If you have tiny feet like I do, you might be able to order them in a child’s size! They look exactly the same and are half the price. SCORE!

3. Silk Scarves

This trend will make you feel 100% more chic. They will also either (a.) turn up your hairstyle game or (b.) keep your neck warm. Either way – it’s worth it. They are also a great way to add a pop of color to a minimalistic ensemble.

4. Leopard Print

When has leopard print NOT been in style? I will say that since the colors are warmer, I feel leopard print is most appreciated during autumn/winter. But hey, no judgment here. Being a lover of most safari prints, I think they are well suited for any season. I’m a big fan of these spotted prints and think that if used in moderation they can add a fun flare to your outfit! Yes, you can look ridiculous if you don’t know how to style animal print appropriately. Remember this important trick regarding spots and stripes: less is always more! If you stick to this mantra, you will never go wrong.

5. Flat Brimmed Hats

So I’m definitely not a big hat person, but I am determined to find a good flat brimmed hat for the season! They add such a boho-chic touch to any outfit. I’m not sure why, but I feel like they are also the most flattering “shape” of hat. Such a fun accessory to play around with and on the plus side, it will keep your head warm and dry when those fall winds turn into winter flurries!
